Andrew Resnick, MD, MBA, joined Brigham Health as senior vice president and chief quality and safety officer in October 2019. He oversees the planning, administration and monitoring of all quality, safety management and regulatory requirements, as well as all quality improvement initiatives across Brigham Health. In this role, he is responsible for the Brigham's compliance with all regulatory, state, federal and Joint Commission requirements, and the development of a comprehensive quality and performance improvement program.

Prior to joining Brigham Health, Resnick was chief medical officer at Froedtert Hospital in Wisconsin, where he also served as associate dean of Clinical Affairs Adult Practice and associate professor of General Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In these roles, Resnick helped drive improvements in quality, efficiency, cost, access, staff engagement and patient experience across a 614-bed acute care hospital and multispecialty group comprising more than 1,300 physicians, 500 advanced practice providers and other practitioners. Prior to that, Resnick worked at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as chief quality officer. While there, he led the development of interprofessional, unit-based quality teams to empower frontline staff, as well as clinical and operational leaders, to improve patient care quality and safety at the local level.

Marc Philip T. Pimentel, MD, MPH, serves as a Medical Director in the Department of Quality and Safety at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He oversees the Hospital Acquired Condition Reduction program at BWH, aimed at preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infection, central line associated blood stream infection, venous thromboembolism, and other sources of patient harm, valued at $4M per year in potential penalties. Dr. Pimentel received his bachelor of arts and medical degrees at Columbia University, and he completed his anesthesia residency at BWH in 2014. He then enrolled in the Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality, where he gained operational skills and experience in patient safety and quality while pursuing a Masters in Public Health.

Dr. Pimentel is also a practicing anesthesiologist and serves as the Associate Clinical Director for Quality in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine. His research interests include infection prevention, quality measurement, and perioperative safety.
