2025 Dates: January

Course Description
This eight week course is designed to help students refresh clinical skills after a hiatus. This course is mandatory for returning MD-PhD students and may also be useful for MD students who are beginning their transition back to full-time clinical clerkships following a protracted period of non-clinical pursuits. This course is not intended for students who have taken off for a year or less.
Course Location: TMEC
There are three aspects to this course:
1. Didactic and discussion seminars, with each day 9am-5pm EST:
Module 1: Jan. 15th & 16th, 2025
A re-introduction to core clinical topics and tools in medicine.
Module 2: March 5th & 6th, 2025
Case-based approaches to common clinical problems.
2. Rounding with a Medical Service Team at BWH or MGH:
Students will participate in Attending Rounds with a specific Medical Service Team at BWH or MGH three times during the course. This experience will expose the student to inpatient clinical management.
3. Presenting a patient to a preceptor:
Seven times during the course, students will be assigned a patient from that service to "work-up.” Each student will then meet with his/her clinical preceptor to present and discuss the patient they have evaluated.
