    New research has shown that black and Hispanic children are more at risk for obesity, even before birth. Viva investigators studied over a dozen risk factors for obesity, and almost all of them were more common in black and Hispanic children compared to white children. Viva researchers believe obesity prevention needs to start at the earliest stages of a child’s life, even preschool may be too late to reduce the disparities.
