Find and Download Funding Opportunities
Nearly all federal Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs - formerly PAs or RFAs) can be found by using the Find section of the Grants.Gov web site, however not all opportunities are available for electronic application. Carefully read the funding announcement to see if you should be applying via Grants.Gov or are still required to submit a paper application. This Find section is completely public and does not require any log in to either find or download funding opportunities.

The basic search page is a great place to start. If you know the FOA number you can quickly find a specific announcement, or use the keyword search to look more generally (for example: "R01"). You can search by CFDA number but we have found it to be somewhat less successful that the other two fields.
Once you have gotten to a FOA that you are interested in applying for click the 'How to Apply' box. If the FOA is available for application via Grants.Gov you will see a table and all the way to the right will be the link to download the Grant Application Package (.xfd file). If you click on this to download you will also be prompted for your email address. We highly suggest you enter your email as the system will automatically send you updates on that specific funding opportunity, should any be posted.
