Funding Search Engines
We strongly suggest three search engines that are particularly well suited for trainees and post-docs.
- Grants-Net- A joint venture of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It was created as a free resource for those searching for training opportunities in the biomedical Sciences (undergraduate, graduate, Fellows). It is free, but you do need to sign up. This site is particularly well suited to trainees.
- SPIN- Database of federal and nonfederal funding opportunities, searchable by anyone using a computer with a Harvard Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- COS (Community of Science) -- sign up to get funding alerts.
Once you are ready to begin the application process, contact your department administrator and financial manager. If you have any other questions or need some assistance, please call our main line at 617-432-1596 or contact your SPA representative.
