2013 Harvard Psychiatry Research Day Poster
Session and Mysell Lecture
The Department of Psychiatry will hold its annual Research Day and Mysell Lecture on April 10, 2013 at The Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical, 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston, MA . The purpose of the event is to encourage collaborative research efforts within the Department by allowing faculty members and trainees to learn about the work being conducted at our various affiliate hospitals. This event highlights the year for our collective scholarly efforts, and I hope all you will be able to participate.
Research Day will begin with a poster presentation session from 1:30-3:30 pm in the Conference Center Rotunda. Both faculty and trainees are encouraged to present posters describing their research, with a limit of one first-authored presentation per person. Residents and Clinical/Research Fellows are especially encouraged to present, and faculty are also invited to submit their work. Posters presented at previous professional meetings are welcome.
The Neal Alan Mysell Award will be given for the best poster presentation by a Fellow, and the Harry and Maida Solomon Award will be given for the best poster presentation by a Resident. The awardees will be selected by the Mysell Committee and announced at the Mysell Lecture following the poster session. For the purpose of the award, trainees are defined as those individuals holding the appointment of resident or post-doctoral fellow. The latter includes psychiatrists and PhD’s who have conducted no more than three years of post-doctoral study.
Following the Poster Session, the 2013 Mysell Lecture will take place at 3:45 pm in the Amphitheater of the Conference Center. Dr. Laura Roberts, Katharine Dexter McCormick and Stanley McCormick Memorial Professor Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University School of Medicine, is the 2013 Mysell Lecturer and the title of her presentation is “Ethical Considerations in Psychiatric Research: Concepts and Evidence”
