1. After hearing the initial evacuation announcement over the intercom, wait until the alarm sounds on your floor to begin exiting the building.

2. Be sure that the lab area is secure ‚ all Bunsen burners are off, gas valves closed, etc.

3. Evacuate the building using the nearest exit.

4. All NRB employees should meet in the Merck Parking lot.

5. Report to your lab evacuation monitor. If there is anyone left in the building tell your lab monitor immediately.

6. All staff and visitors must be accounted for at the post-evacuation site.

7. All lab monitors must then report their lab attendance to the appropriate floor monitor.

8. Everyone should remain at the Merck parking lot (sorry, no coffee trips!) until the fire marshal has given the okay for us to re-enter the building.
