Current teaching and research interests:

I am running a multi-centered research project aiming to evaluate the impact of routine provider and family feedback of symptom distress and quality of life scores in children with advanced cancer, using a handheld computer system. We are also aiming to better understand determinants of good quality communication between parents of children with advanced cancer and oncologists.  I am also co-developing a pediatric palliative care research network.  I mentor several junior investigators in pediatric palliative care research.  From an education perspective, I facilitate monthly pediatric palliative care monthly rounds and bimonthly “Schwartz Center Rounds”.  I also co-direct the pediatric track of the Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice
