Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice
Scholarship Opportunities
The Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice (PCEP) offers a small number of partial competitive scholarships for this program. PCEP scholarship recipients will be selected for their leadership abilities, commitment to participating in building the field of palliative care, service to underserved populations, and potential impact of their project. The goal of the scholarship program is to identify individuals early in their palliative care careers and to support their interests, competencies, and commitment to the field by providing them with outstanding training about teaching and developing palliative care programs in an academic setting.
PCEP, with the support of the Project on Death in America Faculty Scholars Program, is now offering a small number of partial scholarships (30-40% of course tuition) specifically for international applicants.
Eligibility criteria:
• Faculty member, affiliated with a medical school or teaching hospital, in the first five years of an academic appointment; or
• Master's level nurse with an academic affiliation with a hospital or nursing home and five years experience in nursing practice; and,
•A commitment to palliative care practice and education within an academic setting.
All applicants for scholarships will be required to submit the following ADDITIONAL materials with their PCEP application:
• A personal statement outlining the need for scholarship. This should outline why you are applying for scholarship and why you should receive one. Please include the options you have pursued to secure funding, and the reasons why these have not worked out. Please describe any other extenuating circumstances that would make you a candidate for scholarship support.
