This group of residents and attendings
has become a familiar sound around Causeway Street. RTLB has
played gigs at Hurricane O'Reilly's, The Harp, The Grand Canal,
Cleary's, Kennedy's, The International, and others. Besides
playing for free beer and munchies, the band has also helped
raise over $20,000 for worthy causes such as the Jimmy Fund,
United Way, Dana-Farber, Hurricane Katrina relief, United
Spinal Association, and Starlight Children's Foundation. RTLB
is backed by a loyal following of residents, nurses, and staff
whose presence make the shows a "wicked fun time"
for all. The music is loud and crowd-pleasing with influences
ranging from Jimmy Buffett and KC & The Sunshine Band
to AC/DC and Blink 182. Even traditional Irish folk songs
get a makeover for Dr. Burke's St. Patrick's Day celebration.
The band's membership is in constant flux, and includes many
members of the Harvard medical family (see below). Strong
contributions from departments beyond Ortho have often been
made, and anyone with talent and enthusiasm is welcome to
join.
