Statement
for Grant Applications:
The
Harvard Medical School Animal Management Program is accredited
by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory
Animal Care, International (AAALAC) and meets National Institute
of Health standards as set forth in the Guide for the Care
and USE of Laboratory Animals (DHHS Publication No (NIH) 85-23
Revised 1996). The institution also accepts as mandatory the
PHS Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals by
Awardee Institutions and NIH Principles for the Utilization
and Care of Vertebrate Animals Testing, Research and Training.
There is on file with the Office for Protection from Research
Risks an approved Assurance of Compliance
(A3431-01).
