The Nikon Imaging Center uses high-tech microscopes to create digital movies of dynamic events from live cellular behavior to the movement of proteins in living cells. In this lab, you'll look at live cell samples using a variety of microscopes including 6-D imaging fluorescence microscopes, spinning disk confocal microscopes, laser scanning confocal microscopes, and dissecting microscopes. The instruments will take images over time to make movies that can be analyzed with special computer software.
