Stephen Harrison's laboratory studies the atomic structures of macromolecular assemblies, such as viruses and protein/nucleic-acid complexes, to understand how they function in cells. Looking at computer graphics of molecular modeling, you'll get the opportunity to manipulate images of a molecule. You will then get a hands-on view of how these molecular structures are determined experimentally by x-ray crystallography. Finally, you will have a further look at the way in which the experiments lead to biologically informative "molecular movies".
