The Institute for Chemistry and Cell Biology (ICCB) is the world leader in the field of interfacing academic chemistry with academic biology. The ICCB’s screening facility identifies small drug-like molecules to better understand biological mechanisms, using high-throughput screens of chemical libraries. ICCB has identified several new research tools for biology including some currently being used in cancer and ALS research. As a participant in this lab, you will get the opportunity to set up live cell cultures and watch the effects of adding drugs to the cells and then taking the drug away. You will then help produce a movie of the cell changing in response to one or more of the drug molecules.
