| Overview |
- Established by Congress in 1962 and formally dedicated
in 1966, NEPRC is one of eight Regional Primate Research
Centers in the US.
- A campus of Harvard Medical School, NEPRC is located
25 miles west of Boston in Southborough, Massachusetts.
- NEPRC is supported by a base grant from the National
Center for Research Resources of the National Institutes
of Health (NIH).
- Joseph B. Martin, Dean of the Harvard Medical School,
serves as Principal Investigator of the Center's base grant.
- Our many scientific programs are funded by research grants
from categorical institutes of NIH and other federal and
private agencies.
- The Center is organized into seven Research Divisions
focusing on AIDS, cancer, neuropsychiatric disorders, drug
addiction, and neurodegenerative disease.
- Our research staff is comprised of over 40 Harvard Medical
School faculty and fellows and over 150 technical and support
personnel.
