- Congratulations to the 2008 Graduates!
- MD-PhD Student Ganesh Shankar's worked closely with Dennis Selkoe, Shaomin Li, and Bernardo Sabatini to isolate and characterize the forms of Abeta in the human brain. His research appeared in Nature Medicine, Nat Med. 2008 Aug;14(8):837-42 and was featured in HMS FOCUS.
- MD-PhD Student Hannah H. Chang's graduate research appears in Nature paper and Harvard Medical School Focus article. Her studies revealed that dynamic variability of gene expression patterns appears to influence cell fate decisions in mammalian cells.
- Congratulations to Sarah Hill, who has been awarded a predoctoral traineeship award from the Department of Defense (DOD) Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) of the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). Sarah's award will be used for graduate study in the laboratory of Dr. David Livingston to study "BRCA1 Pathway Functionality in Basal-Like Breast Cancer". The DOD cited their belief that Sarah's project will add significantly to the understanding of breast cancer.

(HMS MD/PhD, '91), recently identified a protein that may be
inhibiting the processing of small RNAs in embryonic
stem cells and certain cancers.
