The anchoring clerkship is a one-month capstone clinical experience offered at the end of the 2nd year of medical school prior to entry into the graduate program. Students participate in the first four weeks of either the medical or pediatric clerkship at a Harvard affiliated hospital (MGH, BWH, BIDMC, CHB). This anchoring clerkship helps to solidify clinical knowledge attained in the first and second years of medical school, to inspire clinical translation in graduate research, and to provide a measure of familiarity to the clinic when returning to medical school.
