Finance Office Bulletin 12/4/02

1. Upgraded Financial Systems
Harvard's financial systems have been upgraded to Oracle Release 11i, and are now available to the University community.

Using Internet Explorer, you can log in to the new systems, or take a guided tour of them using our online simulations at: http://vpf-web.harvard.edu/applications/

You can review the updated desktop standards at: http://able.harvard.edu/other/standards.shtml

Please be aware that you'll need Internet Explorer and a new version of the J-Initiator software plug-in to use the Oracle 11i financial applications. Detailed information about changes to expect in the new systems is available at: http://vpf-web.harvard.edu/training/enews/html/111502.html

Documentation about how to use the financial systems has been updated. As always, it's available on ABLE at: http://able.harvard.edu

Users who need help using the upgraded system, or just have questions after reviewing the eNews and ABLE documentation can register for a hands-on clinic, staffed by the FAD Product Management team. The 90-minute clinics will be on December 6th and 11th. On both days, clinics will be held at 10:00, 1:00, and 3:00. You can register for them through your local training registrar (HMS training registrar is David Smallwood, 617-432-0537) or by calling FAD Training at 617-495-8891. You'll need an active user ID and password to participate in the clinic as you'll be accessing the actual production systems, not a training environment. Please feel free to bring actual work you want to process online to the clinic as well.

As always, please call the UIS HelpDesk at 617-496-2001 if you experience a problem using the upgraded systems.
