ADAPT Bulletin 7/2/01

Announcement from HMS Finance Office:

Please be advised that as of July 9, 2001 the Harvard Travel Center service fee will increase from $20.00 to $27.00 for all non-shuttle tickets issued.

The ticket fee for all Delta Shuttle tickets will remain at $40.00 but will be fee free if purchased through the Delta SkyCard program. Information regarding enrollment in the SkyCard program is available at the Harvard University Travel web site.

Unfortunately due to increased costs and continued reductions in airline commissions, periodic fee increases are unavoidable.

However, it is important to keep in mind that because of successful negotiations with travel providers, the Harvard Travel Center continues to provide over 4 million dollars in savings to the University on an annual basis. The Harvard Travel Center offers discounts on most major airlines, Amtrak and many hotels and car rental companies. These discounts are negotiated because of the support of the Harvard University community. The more the Harvard Travel Center is used, the more we stand to save.
