HMS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
FOR PHYSICIANS AND SCIENTISTS

Course Description:

Target audience: This course is designed for HMS/HSDM instructors, assistant professors, or associate professors(*) who currently have responsibility for a research grant, laboratory, educational course, or clinical unit. This course is intended for those in the early stages of leadership and not for chairs of departments or divisions.
Date: Tuesday, April 1, 6:00 PM to Friday, April 4, 1:30 PM
Location: Conference Center at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA
Application Procedure: Applicants must submit: 10 copies of the application and one sealed nomination letter from Chair/Division Chief or supervisor (may be sent separately). Mail or hand-deliver original application and ten copies to: Sara Kiarsis, HMS Office for Faculty Affairs, Gordon Hall, Rm. 206, 25 Shattuck St., Boston, MA 02115. Attendance is limited to 60 HMS/HSDM clinicians, educators, and researchers, to be selected by Course Directors. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
Application deadline is 12:00 Noon on November 7, 2007. Participants will be notified by December 21, 2007 of acceptance.

*Faculty Eligibility Guidelines: Instructor for at least 3 years as of July 1, 2008, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors for no more than 3 years as of July 1, 2008.

Tuition: $575

Continuing Medical Education Credits: Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Harvard Medical School designates this educational activity for a maximum of 22 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This course is designed to meet the criteria for 1 hour Risk Management credits in Massachusetts.
