The Jefferey Modell Center for Immunology at Harvard Medical School, which opened on November 17, 2007, is a unique endeavor - a new facility, a new home, and a new vision for graduate education in Immunology. It will provide much needed space for teaching, lecture programs, receptions, seminars, educational events, conference rooms, study areas, lounges, a library and new office space for the Immunology Program. Furthermore, it will maximize collaboration between students, faculty, and post doctoral fellows in the graduate program in Immunology, as well as throughout the Harvard-affiliated Institutions.
The Center will provide a meaningful contribution to the development of a new generation of highly trained immunologists at a time when research in immunology has emerged as the key to treatment, prevention, and cures for a host of deadly and debilitating diseases. The Center will become the focal point for the diverse community of immunologists at Harvard.
