Minority Biomedical Scientists of Harvard

Faculty Development

M.B.S.H. recognizes the need to promote the professional development of members of minority groups. Harvard Medical School is not unlike the vast majority of institutions in that few if any minority faculty are in evidence. This situation may put some minority students at a disadvantage by perpetuating a lack of role models with whom they can identify. In addition, the entire community is deprived of the sense of vitality that a diverse faculty generates.

M.B.S.H. will be working in association with the Office of Enrichment, the Office of Recruitment and Multicultural Affairs, Jocelyn Spragg, Dean Silen, and others to develop new programs to encourage the recruitment and retention of minority faculty at Harvard.
