Welcome to the newly renovated Countway Library of Medicine.
We have created this virtual tour to offer a glimpse of the renovation highlights to our supporters who were unable to attend the rededication celebration on September 28, 2000. Visitors to the library interested in taking another look also are invited to take this tour.
The Countway combines the collections of the Harvard Medical School Library and the Boston Medical Library, which were moved in 1964 to the current location at 10 Shattuck Street in Boston.
With nearly 670,000 volumes, 3,500 journal titles, 750 electronic journals, and a wealth of rare books and special collections, the Countway is one of the largest academic medical libraries in the world. It supports the research and educational goals of the Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and the Harvard School of Public Health. The library also is a resource for faculty, students, and staff at affiliated hospitals.
We hope you enjoy the tour!
