    The purpose of this conference is to share information and best practices to increase awareness of the needs of women and families living in rural and frontier areas and gain hands on experience with programs that work.

  • Women of Color: Addressing Disparities, Affirming Resilience, and Developing Strategies for Success
    This Summit is the third (1997, 2004) to address health disparities among women of color living in the United States. The goal of this Summit is to focus on the often unrecognized threats to health experienced by women of color, by 1) building on knowledge gained in previous conferences and identifying distinct health issues disproportionately impacting minority women; and 2) highlighting successful models of health promotion and prevention.

  • 4th Annual Women’s Health Research Conference: Hot Topics in Mature Women's Health
    This year’s Research Conference keynote “The Menopausal Transition: What We Are Learning About Menopause and Healthy Aging” will be given by Nancy Fugate Woods, PhD, RN, FAAN, Dean, School of Nursing, University of Washington.  Other speakers and topics include: Targeting the Estrogen Receptor in Post-Menopausal Women with Breast Cancer: Strategies, Benefits, and Risks; Pharmacotherapeutic Issues Concerning Cardiovascular Risk for Women; Mental Health Issues in Mature Women; Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment. The Conference will include a poster session and a women’s health resource fair.  There is a $25 registration fee (waived for students).

  • Cancer Rehabilitation: The New Frontier

    sored by the Cotting Connection:Please join us for this innovative two-day program designed to introduce health care practioneers, exercise and fitness professionals and survivors themselves to the treatments that breast cancer patients undergo in the battle of their lives. Women are being diagnosed more often and at younger ages than ever before. The statistics are simply staggering. The good news is that survival rates are improving every day. Once active treatment ends women are anxious to return to their every day lives. Our goal at Cotting Connection is to help them do that safely. We will have several keynote speakers from some of Boston’s most prestigious hospitals.
