Program
in Palliative Care
Education and Practice:
Scholarship Opportunities
PCEP offers
a small number of partial competitive scholarships for this program.
PCEP scholarship recipients will be selected for their leadership abilities, commitment
to participating in building the field of palliative care, service to underserved populations, including pediatrics, and potential impact of their project. The goal of the
scholarship program is to identify individuals early in their palliative care careers
and to support their interests, competencies, and commitment to the field
by providing them with outstanding training about teaching and
developing palliative care programs in an academic setting.
PCEP, with the support of the PDIA Faculty Scholars Program, is now offering a small number of partial scholarships (50-75% of course tuition) specifically for international applicants.
Eligibility criteria:
Chief resident, fellow, or faculty member in first five years
of an academic appointment
affiliated with a medical school or teaching hospital; or
Master's level nurse with an academic affiliation with a hospital or nursing home and five years experience in nursing practice; and a
Commitment to palliative care practice and education within an
academic setting.
All applicants for fellowships will be required to submit the following
materials to supplement their PCEP application:
A personal statement outlining the evolution of your interest in palliative
care and career goals related to palliative care.
A letter from your Dean, Department Chair, or similar institutional
leader indicating a commitment to you and your career goals, institutional
support for your project, and release time (minimum of 5%) to work on this palliative
care project.
All applications are due on January 15, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
