Educational and professional experience

Michael Miovic, M.D., is an attending psychiatrist at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston.  He received his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, trained in psychiatry at the Harvard Longwood Program, and then did a fellowship in Psycho-oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.   He currently works closely with the Neuro-oncology, Thoracic oncology, and Women’s Cancers programs at the DFCI. 

Current teaching and research interests

Dr. Miovic holds live-interview teaching rounds with the Pain & Palliative Care fellows at the DFCI every Thursday afternoon.  He recently completed a study on domains of discussion in psychotherapy, and is beginning to plan a study of the QOL impact and cost-effectiveness of treating delirium in oncology patients.
