Organizational Structure

Core Director, Dr. Loda, will oversee the planning of core activities. Dr. Signoretti, Core Pathologist, performs all microdissection experiments and has developed novel techniques for DNA and RNA extraction from microdissected specimens, and reads and scores database slides. Dr. Nandita Bhattacharya is responsible for tissue processing, and sectioning from archived and frozen prostate tissues, immunohistochemistry and maintaining the computerized databases of Prostate cancer patients.

  • Routine and specialized histological staining

Immunohistochemistry

  • Manual or automated immunostaining on paraffin and frozen tissue sections using characterized antibodies
  • Establishment of immunohistochemical assays for novel antibodies

Laser-capture microdissection

Photomicroscopy digital image capture and analysis

Education and Training

Discussion on how to optimize fixation and preparation of samples

Training on microdissection
