Undergraduate Research Assistant

I am currently a senior concentrating in Biology/Mind, Brain, and Behavior at Harvard. Since joining the Kravitz lab in fall 2006, I've been examining the role of various subtypes of octopamine receptors in the choice between aggression and courtship, which will eventually become my senior thesis. Working with Sarah, I hope to use the genetic tools we have in Drosophila to examine both mutant and RNAi lines for these receptors, and then identify the neural substrates which express these receptors in the brain.

Outside the lab, I enjoy writing both fiction and science journalism, taking classes at Harvard Hillel, and hanging out with my friends in glorious Mather House, among other things.
