Greeting from George E. Thibault ’69
Chairman of Alumni Relations
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome fellow Harvard Medical School alumni to our web pages. Not many schools of medicine can claim an Alumni Association as strong and enduring as ours. Since 1890, when a group of graduates gathered at the Boston Medical Library, HMS alumni have steadfastly supported the cause of medical education and the careers of their fellow graduates. From a handful of students and a faculty of three at its inception in 1782 to some 900 students and a faculty of over 10,000 today, much of the School’s growth and success is due to strong alumni support.
In Boston and around the world, HMS alumni—now 9,000 strong—continue to lead the medical profession. In clinics, classrooms, and research laboratories, you are leaving a legacy of curing, caring, and educating. We encourage you to use this distinguished network as a valuable resource throughout your career, and to become an active member of the Alumni Association.
You can always reach us at hmsalum@hms.harvard.edu.
We’d love to hear from you.
Sincerely,
George E. Thibault, M.D. ’69
Chairman of HMS Alumni Relations
