Description: The Foundation focuses on funding research for innovative grants for translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast or cervical cancer. Such research would lead to improvement in diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, or treatment of the cancers. Translational research is broadly defined as research that will provide a scientific link between laboratory research and the clinic.
Duration: 2 years Amount: up to $100,000 total
(combined direct and indirect costs for the 2 yr period) Note: If indirect costs are requested, they cannot exceed 15% of requested direct costs.
Foundation Deadline: February 15, 2010 (approx.)
Eligibility
Requirements:

MD, MD/PhD, PhD

  1. There are no restrictions as to faculty rank or length of time at a specific faculty rank.
  2. U.S. Citizenship is NOT required.
  3. Field-Translational Research in ovarian, uterine, breast, cervical cancer

Note: The Foundation states that only 1 grant application will be accepted from each accredited medical school and school of public health in the United States. Therefore, HMS faculty must apply through HMS for this award; Dana Farber Cancer Institute is allowed a separate nomination and therefore DFCI faculty must apply through their own institution. All other HMS faculty must apply through HMS. HSPH may also submit 1 nominee, directly, to the Foundation.
